United Way announces campaign cabinet

United Way is in full swing with the 2009/2010 Capital Campaign and to help make it all happen, takes many volunteers working behind the scenes. The Campaign Cabinet’s primary goal is to make contact with area businesses and ask them to run an employee campaign. They also write letters to various businesses and individuals asking them for their support.

We don’t ask a few people to give a lot, we ask a lot of people to give a little. In order to reach so many people, we have a dedicated Campaign Cabinet volunteering to help make it all happen and I am grateful to have them serving with me.

On the 20099/2010 Campaign Cabinet are: Leon Harris, Chairman of the Board; Bill Patterson, Campaign Chairman; Jim Briggs, Campaign Co-Chairman; and Kirk Thompson, Pacesetter Chairman. Also serving are: John Anderson, Susie Broadhead, David Buckner, Sandra Bunyard, Linda Butler, John Compton, Myles Frank, Michael Gibson, Dr. John Hodge, Penny Kemp, Jennifer McCraw, Brandon Pratt, Sharon Pratt, Dr. Sandra Pupa, Donnie Smith, Cynthia Touchton, Chad Vaughn, Linda Waters and Debbie Young.

Contributions made the United Way of East Mississippi stay in East Mississippi. For every dollar donated, $.99 goes to local agencies, including: Boys and Girls Club, Care Lodge, Choctaw Area Boy Scouts, Community of Hope Tutoring, Foster Grandparent Program, Friendship Center, Girl Scouts of Gulf Pines, Hope Village for Children, Key Chapter of the American Red Cross, LOVE’s Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Salvation Army, South Harbor Shelter, and Wesley House.
