Over 65 and invisible

Seniors, retirees and those over the age of 65 take notice that this US administration does not see you.  If you are 65 or older you are invisible and your assigned social security number needs to be erased to help with the budget. You say to yourself and the President says to you that the proposed health care bill is not an euthanasia bill.  What is euthanasia? The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines euthanasia as “the act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individual in a relatively painless way for reasons of mercy.” Your immediate thought is, this does not apply to me! But it does apply to you regardless of age. A person in their late 40s may say to themselves with planning of the future in mind, when I retire I’m going to do thus and so. But, without good health when I retire and a system which allows euthanasia there is no retirement.

Don’t think that you have a corner on the thought, not In the good ole USA. Not to me! But, it has already happened this year, 2009, with this US presidential administration. NBC’s Brian Williams reported on July 29, 2009 that Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had developed categories and limits for the (H1N1) Swine Flu Vaccine that are different from previous years regarding priorities for vaccination. In the past the very young and those 65 or older and those with health risks were encouraged to receive the flu vaccine. Not in 2009! Rationing of health care by the US government for (H1N1) Flu vaccine will first be issued to pregnant women and then to caregiver at home, healthcare workers, people 6 months to 24 years old and adults 24 to 64 with underlying health problems. Note that those 65 and older are not on the list. This is the first sign of intent to practice euthanasia that is defined in the HR 3200 dated July 14, 2009. On page 425 lines 12-20 it is stated that the government will make a “… provision by the practitioner of a list of national and state-specific resources to assist consumers and their families with advanced care planning …and of end of life services…” What does Medi-care offer today when death visits an elderly person?  Medi-care offers nothing to a family and only $250 to a surviving spouse and the US government reduces a line item expense, you, which helps the budget with each person removed from the transfer payment rolls, your retirement check.

This condition does not discriminate by race, color or creed. The health care plan is non-specific for individuals unless you are old, disabled and sick. Every individual, in their senior years, that receives a government check will be affected. Only the rich will have an opportunity to make a health plan choice, maybe!
