What about substance?

The letter, "This is our moment, and this is our time!" (Monika E. Broaden Jun 15, 2008) sounds like a typical Obama "Change" speech; "we have overcome those obstacles," "our nation will go down in history," "we have finally seen this day come," "our time has come and it has been long overdue," "this is our moment and this is our time," all totally void of any clue as to what "our time" has in store for our nation.

The writer's "our time," if it is to come, has got to embrace more than standing up and shouting these "change" mantras ad nauseam. "Our time" will certainly be of historic import. But are you really going to want to read about the period when symbolism devoured substance? It's time to trade in the "change" response for "change" responsibility.
