Seat-belt law should not apply to adults

I am all for safety and wearing seat belts. However, I feel that it should only be mandatory for children.

Adults may not make all the smartest choices, but when they decide to do something, right or wrong, it is their choice. I don’t see why someone should make me wear a seat belt. It’s my life. If I choose to ride unprotected, then it’s my choice.

I feel that the law is probably for insurance protection. We have lost so many rights that I wonder if we will be able to think for ourselves in the future.

I think that if a child is not in a seat belt, the driver should be ticketed. I am glad the police are doing their jobs, and I will wear my seat belt, but in my opinion, it’s not fair. It’s just another way the law has found to control what I do as an American.

There are lots of accidents daily that result in death, both with seat belts and without. I don’t want to be in an accident and die waiting for someone to cut me out of my seat belt when maybe I could have crawled through a window.
