Former mayor backs Rounsaville for Third District race

What consistent practice have Mississippians followed when electing our representatives to Congress? Mississippians have almost invariably elected young representatives, allowing them to continue to serve and become influential members of Congress.

Considering the viable candidates for Mississippi's Third District, John Rounsaville is by far the youngest person seeking the office. Further, with his educational background, Rounsaville holds the added advantage of having the best experience.

Rounsaville served Chip Pickering in Washington D.C., allowing him to go to work immediately. As a top aide to Governor Barbour, Rounsaville has "hands on" experience with Mississippi's problems. As former State Director of Rural Development, Rounsaville has an "up close" view of problems and invaluable experience working with Mississippi's communities.

While other viable candidates can afford to put more of their personal wealth into their campaign, Rounsaville has more to offer in the position, given his age, experience and willingness to serve for the "long haul." Simply stated, Rounsaville, is the right age and possesses the expertise as well as the experience desired of our third District Congressman.

Thank you for considering my assessment. Please vote!

Jimmy Kemp

former Mayor of the City of Meridian
