In response from the letter from Kathryn Irby, from Metarie, La., I do not mind being called a redneck. I am a woman and my blood boiled when you called us people in Meridian, ignorant. Lady you don't know what you are talking about! I don't know why you read The Meridian Star and to call your own grandfather ignorant is beyond me, just because you lived in Mississippi. There's no one better than the people of Mississippi. We work for a living, black and white and we have some of the best colleges and hospitals in the world. So do not call us stupid. That makes me mad! Come to visit Meridian and we will show you how stupid and ignorant people live. We will give you some black-eyed peas and hog chittlings. Thank you!
