Put God first

I have read many of the letters to the Editor of The Meridian Star in the past. I have agreed with some and disagreed with some.

We (in Mississippi) certainly need to be informed voters as we select a candidate who is going to govern this United States of America in the next coming years.

Obama mention His new church membership during a recent appearance with Oprah. It's the Trinity Church of Christ. This is interesting.

Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for president of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their Web site, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable commitment to Africa. Nowhere is America even mentioned. Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should want to join Obama's church, black! Doesn't look like his choice of religion has improved over his (former) Muslim upbringing.

Strip away his nice looks, the big smile and smooth talk and what do you get? Certainly a racist, as plainly defined by the stated position of his church! This guy desires to rule over America while his loyalty is totally vested in a Black Africa!

I cannot believe this has not been all over the television and newspapers. This is why it is so important to pass this message along to all family, friends, co-workers, everybody, that to think that Obama has even the slightest chance in the run for presidency is really scary.

All I can say to the readers of The Meridian Star is to research your candidate and know what they really believe — don't let the idea of having a woman as president, a black as president, a minister as president or a Mormon (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) as president be the reason for your voting. It is not that important to the first. More than likely we will have one of these firsts as our new president but look at how they really live their lives and look at the fruits of their labor and don't let the language of their political cronies overshadow what they have done for the past 35-45 years.

We need a president that has our (the citizens of the United States) interests at stake — not the special interests groups nor some popular television or movie personality influence our candidates. What we do not need is someone who has sold their candidacy to those special interest groups. We need a president that follows his conscious and truly believes that our founding fathers established the Constitution with a Faith in God.
