Law Enforcement Reports: 6-20-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Contempt of court – Stephanie Carter, 26, 2316 16th Avenue, Meridian.   

    • Contempt of court – Jonathan McDonald, 22, 3706 7th Street, Meridian.   

    • Domestic violence/felony -2 counts – Danny Antonio Rakestraw Jr., 36, 1912 30th Avenue, Meridian.   

    • Shoplifting – Amos Ivy, 26, 917 42nd Avenue, Meridian. Ivy is also charged with disorderly conduct.


    Incident Reports

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday:

Auto Burglary

    • 800 block of 18th Avenue South.

Commercial Burglary

    • 2600 block of Lakeview Golf Course Road.  


    • 1900 block of Front Street.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's      Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Forged, false, or fraudulent prescription – Kasey Marie Atkins, 32, 2561 Old Highway 19 Southeast, Meridian.

    • Failure to pay Justice Court – Laquintanette Renee Brewster, 25, 1318 19th Street D-1, Meridian.  

    • Burglary-dwelling house – Yolanda Easley, 33, 2705 11th Street, Meridian.   

    • Failure to pay Justice Court-3 counts – Montario Gordon, 26, 5666 Charlie Dunn Road, Toomsuba.     

    • Possession of marijuana (more than 30 grams) – Anthony Desean Hopson, 25, 2126 34th Avenue, Meridian.

    • Aggravated assault – Ethan Glen Lewis, 19, 612 Dees Road, Meridian. Lewis is also charged with telephone harassment.

    • Domestic violence-simple assault – Christopher Erik Shappell, 33, 9492 Lakewood Street, Meridian. Shappell is also charged with three counts of failure to register as a sex-offender.

    • Failure to pay Justice Court – Katara Lashae Williams, 23, 3633 24th Street, Meridian.

    Incident Reports

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:



    • 600 block of Poplar Springs Cove, Meridian.  

    • 10800 block of Fraizer Road, Bailey.


    • 5200 block of Stonebriar Drive, Meridian.

Intoxicated Driver

    • 10800 block of Centerhill Martin Road, Meridian.

Stolen Vehicle

    • 5000 block of Valley Road, Meridian.  


Fire Runs

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following fire runs between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Vehicle accident, Poplar Springs Drive.

    • Building fire, Manning Street.

    • Extrication of victim, Hawkins Crossing Road.

    • False alarm, Manning Street.

    • Vehicle accident, Interstate 20.

    • Medical assist, 50th Avenue.

    The volunteer fire departments reported the following emergency runs between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • EMS, Byrd Doerner Road. (Martin)

    • Structure fire, Buntin Gunn Road. (Bailey, Northeast, Martin)

    • Accident with injuries, Centerhill Martin Road, (Collinsville, Martin, Suqualena)

Ambulance Runs

    Metro Ambulance reported 32 emergency runs Thursday by 3 p.m.
