MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday:

    • Telephone harassment – Valencia R. Burton, 31, 804 Martin Luther King Drive, Newton. Burton is also charged with contempt of court.

    • Public drunkenness — Douglas Martin, 56, 3206 12th St., Meridian.

    • Probation violation – Vanessa Kaye Matthews, 42, 9604 Lockhart Trailor Court, Road B, Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 12:01 a.m. Monday and 11:59 a.m. Tuesday.

Residential Burglary

     • 1600 block of 23rd Avenue, unknown time

    • 4000 block of 30th Street, daytime

    • 2300 block of D Street, daytime

    • 4700 block of 37th Street, unknown time

Auto Burglary                                

    • 2200 block of 15th Avenue, daytime

    • 1300 block of 19th Avenue, nighttime

Stolen Vehicle

    • 1300 block of 36th Avenue, key, recovered

    • 5300 block of 5th Street, key, recovered

        

Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 8:30 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday:

    • Possession of a controlled substance with intent, two counts — Gary Eugene Barber, 31, 7911 Lauderdale-Toomsuba Road, Lauderdale.

    • Domestic violence-Simple assault — David Lonnie Deese III, 51, 451 West Mt. Carmel Road, Meridian.    

    • Uttering/Forgery, two counts — Elizabeth Ann Manns, 31, 2357 Highway 19 South.

    • DUI, first offense – Henrie Gully Robinson, 27, 1736 Country Club Drive. Robinson is also charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license (DUI).

    • Possession of methamphetamine with intent – Brittany N. Warren, 23, 1005 Bragg Ave., Meridian.

    • Telephone harassment, two counts – Chasity Leann Whitehead, 21, 5209 Ash Ave., Meridian. Whitehead is also charged with stalking.

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents from 8:30 a.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday:

    Theft

    • 13200 block Rocky Ridge Road, Collinsville.

    Intoxicated driver

    • Briarwood Road, Meridian

    Vandalism

    • 2700 block Valley Road 107, Meridian.

Fire Runs

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following emergency runs for Monday:  

    • Vehicle fire    — 40th Avenue

    • False alarm — Great River Drive

    • Vehicle accident — 65th Avenue

    • Oil spill — I-20

    • Vehicle accident — Eighth Street

    • Natural vegetation fire — 22nd Avenue S
