Law Enforcement Reports: 4-18-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • Disorderly conduct — Jacoby G. Ramsey, 32, 2524 Grandview Ave., Meridian.

    • Disorderly conduct — Travis B. Russell, 22, 5833 Point Wanita Lake Road, Chunky.

    • Simple assault — Julius Morris, 21, 2816 Old Marion Road, Meridian.

    • Disorderly conduct — Danny A. Rakestraw, 37, 1912 30th Ave., Meridian.

    • Shoplifting — Bobby Rush, 36, 2610 Highland Ave., Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.  

    Robbery

    At 4:22 a.m. Thursday, police responded to an armed robbery in the 1000 block of North Frontage Road. Officers determined the victim was robbed at gunpoint by an unidentified black man. This case is under investigation.

    Residential Burglary

    • At 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a residential burglary in the 4200 block of 20th Street.

    • At 9:19 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a residential burglary in the 1600 block of 37th Avenue.     

    Shootings

    Meridian Police responded to a shots fired called in the 400 block of 40th Avenue. Officers were able to stop a vehicle matching a description provided but were unable to charge anyone due to lack of evidence.

    Meridian Police Officers responded to four shots fired calls. When officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate any evidence to support the calls.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office

      The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests from 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • DUI — Dustn S. Frazier, 27, 535 64th Ave., Meridian.

    • Bad check — Emery J. Luther, 47, 1307 CR 467, Meridian.

    • Conspiracy to commit a felony — Desiree L. McDaniel, 25, 3321 Northview Drive, Meridian.

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    Theft

    • 300 block Harper Road, Meridian.

    DUI

    • Russell Mt. Gilead Road, Meridian.

Mississippi Highway Patrol

    

    Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop H reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
