MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

    • Public drunk — Billy R. Mathis Jr., 50, 727 Myrtle Drive, Meridian.

    • Public drunk — Joe Lee Smith, 51, 801 28th Ave., Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the the following incidents between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

    Burglary

    • 1000 block Highway 19 S.

    Auto Burglary

    • 700 block Bonita Drive

    Stolen vehicle

    • 2400 block 4th Avenue

    Meridian Police Department authorities have charged 19-year-old Patrick D. Jackson and 17-year-old Jaquis K. Reed, both of Meridian, with accessory after the fact to armed robbery. The charges stem from the pair intentionally hiding a subject from police who had armed robbery charges filed against him, police contend. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday when the Meridian Police Department's DART team took Ray Ray Brown into custody for the armed robbery at the local motel last week as reported yesterday. Bond was set at $15,000 per charge.  

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

    • Possession of cocaine — Joe Edwards Jr., 48, 1703 22nd St., Meridian.

    • Aggravated assault — Marcus D. Hill, 32, 7850 Bethel Cemetery Road, Lauderdale.

    • Forgery — Kasey B. Keller, 24, 12534 Ball Diamond Road, Collinsville.

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported no incidents from 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

Mississippi        Highway Patrol

    Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop H reported reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

Marion Police    Department

    The Marion Police Department reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

    The following cases were handed down in the Lauderdale County Circuit Court during the week of March 25 thru April 5.

    • Receiving stolen property — Wendell Hull, 2 yrs. MDOC, 2 yrs. suspended, 2 yrs. probation.

    • Felon in possession of firearm — Carol Mitchell, 2 yrs. MDOC, 2 yrs. suspended, 2 yrs. probation.

    • Possession of cocaine in a correctional facility — Jonathan Michael Taylor, 3 yrs. MDOC.

    • Aggravated domestic violence — Marcus Dave Hill Sr., 10 yrs. MDOC, 8 yrs. suspended, 3 yrs. probation.
