Law Enforcement Reports: 7-5-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Burglary (commercial building, cars, etc..) – Fernando J. Ruffin, 20, 534 56th Avenue, Meridian.    

    • Uttering forgery – Melissa J. Taylor, 25, 1425 44th Avenue, Meridian.     

    • Stalking – Douglas Anderson, 58, 5802 Mosby Road, Meridian.    

    

    Incident Reports

    

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday:

Auto Burglary

    • 1500 block of 22nd Avenue Heights.

Residential Burglary

    • 1500 block of 8th Avenue.   

    • 3200 block of 21st Street.

    • 2900 block of Highway 45 North.  

Shootings

    • Meridian Police Officers responded to 7 shots fired call. When Officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate evidence to support the call.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's      Department

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Driving under the influence (DUI), first offense – Aretta Kelley, 28, 1680 Center Ridge Church Road, Dekalb. Kelley also faces a charge of violating the seat belt law.   

    • Burglary (dwelling house) – Thomas Andrew Larson, 32, 4823 Causeyville Road, Meridian. Larson also faces a charge of petit larceny (up to $500).    

    • Probation violation/parole – Richard Dyvonne Martin, 24, 1626 Lizzie Road, Meridian.     

    Incident Reports

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

Intoxicated Driver

    • Old Country Club-Lizelia Road, Meridian.   

Suicide or Attempted Suicide

    • 3500 block of Paulding Road, Meridian.    

Fire Runs

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following fire runs between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Brush fire, 17th Street.

    • Arcing, shorted electric equipment, 18th Avenue.    

    • Power line down, 19th Avenue.

    • Building fire, Oakland Park Street.

    • Medical assist, Oakdale Avenue.

    • Outside rubbish fire, 34th Street.

    • False alarm, 48th Avenue.  

    • Public service assistance, 5th Street.

    The Lauderdale County Volunteer Fire departments reported the following runs between 9 a.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday:

    • Accident with injuries, Interstate 20 (163 mm). (Russell, Toomsuba)

    • Assist, Jeff Davis Road. (Southeast)

    • EMS, Morgan Road. (Suqualena)

    • EMS, Wilsondale Road. (Collinsville)

    • Brush fire, East Overlook Road. (Lauderdale)

    • Brush fire, Highway 496. (Toomsuba)

    • Accident with injuries, Will Garrett Road. (Toomsuba)

    • EMS, Old Highway 19 South. (Collinsville)  

    • EMS, Allen Road. (Collinsville)

    • EMS, Allen Road. (Suqualena)

    

Ambulance Runs

    Metro Ambulance reported 57 emergency runs Thursday by 3 p.m.
