Law Enforcement Reports: 6-28-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday:

    • Shoplifting – Brittany S. McCoy, 22, 4408 Pauding Street, Meridian. McCoy also faces charges of failing to pay Justice Court.    

    • Hold for outside agency/law enforcement – Chevoz Cruz, 18, 5117 Highway 493, Meridian.    

    • Public drunkenness – Kevin Sentrell Walker, 27, 5683 Church Road, Kewanee.

    • Simple assault – Robin Carol Willis, 40, 1513 25th Avenue, Meridian.     

    • Giving false information – Michael Lewis, 53, 5106 2nd Street, Meridian.   

    • Shoplifting – Briana K. James, 22, 2427 4th Avenue, Meridian.   

    • Shoplifting – Ereia Alexander, 18, 2210 23rd Avenue, Meridian.


    Incident Reports


    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents from 9 a.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday:

Residential Burglary

    • 4500 block of Pacific Street.

    • 200 block of North Hills Street.


    • Meridian Police Officers responded to 1 shots fired call. When Officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate evidence to support the call.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department


    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday:

    • Failure to appear in Justice Court, 2 counts – Magen Rena Alexander, 28, 7691 Pine Springs Road, Meridian.   

    • Burglary-dwelling house – Jessica Dale Frazier, 23, 2350 Highway 496. Frazier also faces charges of petit larceny (up to $500).    

    • Probation violation/parole – Steven Dewayne Harris, 45, 9085 Pine Springs Road, Meridian.     

    • Telephone harassment – Gina L. Jones, 28, 8895 Highway 19 North, Collinsville.        

    • Failure to pay Justice Court – Omar Alexander Newell, 26, 3001 Davis Street, Meridian.   

    • Possession of methamphetamine with intent – Kevin W. Smith, 36, 7960 Pine Springs Road, Meridian. Smith also faces charges of violation probation/parole.       

    Incident Reports

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday:


    • 3700 block of Dillard Road, Meridian.   


    • 10400 block of Rabbit Road, Lauderdale.   

Fire Runs

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following fire runs between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday:

    • Lock in, Willow Ridge Drive.

    • Vehicle accident, Highway 39 By-pass.    

    • False alarm, Poplar Springs Drive.  

    The Lauderdale County Volunteer Fire departments reported the following runs between 9 a.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday:

    • Accident with injuries, Highway 495. (Bailey)

    • Trash fire, Dr. Brock Road. (Clarkdale)

    • Medical alarm, Lauderdale Toomsuba Road. (Toomsuba)

    • Structure fire, Clarke County. (Southeast)

Ambulance Runs

    Metro Ambulance reported 41 emergency runs Friday by 3 p.m.
