Law Enforcement Reports: 11-01-13

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Deparment

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • Failure to pay child support — Anthony L. Mosley, 36, 239 58th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault — Donald Naylor, 34, 1913 15th Ave., Meridian.

    • Possession of firearm on school property — Lougyyrious X. Page, 22, 3708 5th St., Meridian.

    • Shoplifting — Jimmy Hollingsworth, born 1969, 132 Middle Road, GA.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.  

    Residential Burglary

    • 9:23 a.m., 5400 block of Valley Street

    Miscellaneous Crimes

    • Tuesday, 1:35 p.m., arson investigation at a home located in the  400 block of Sweet Gum Bottom Road.

    • Tuesday, 12:16 p.m., police responded to a house and car being shot in the 1900 block of 24th Street.  

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • DUI — Leland Harris, 25, 1790 Bunk Newell Road, Meridian.

    • Abuse/neglect of vulnerable adult — Debbie W. Penny, 57, 10423 Highway 493, Meridian.

    • Possession of marijuana — Karmetrick L. Sims, 30, 7095 Lizelia Road, Marion.

    • Failure to appear in justice court — Marvin D. Smith, 50, 4650 Prisock Road, Toomsuba.

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    Vandalism

    • 200 block Ponta Hills Road, Meridian.

    • 300 block Briarwood Road, Meridian.

    DUI

    • Bunk Newell Road, Meridian.

Mississippi Highway Patrol

    Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop H reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Marion Police Department

    The Marion Police Department reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Fire runs

    

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following emergency runs between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.  

    • Assist police, M Street

    • Medical assist, Tommy Webb Drive

    • Vehicle accident, Highway 19 North              

    The volunteer fire departments reported the following emergency runs between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    

    • EMS, Zero Road (Long Creek)

    • Vehicle fire, Hwy. 11/80 (Russell, Toomsuba)

    • EMS, McCraw Road (Suqualena)

    • EMS, Hwy. 145 (Clarkdale)

    • Traffic accident, Shiloh Vimville Road (Southeast)

Ambulance runs

    

    Metro Ambulance reported 30 emergency runs between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 3 p.m. Thursday.
