MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

    • Fugitive from justice — Douglas Calhoun, 37, 2318 McOrill Road, Fulton, Ala.

    • DUI — Kevin H. Cox, 32, 174 Crescent Lake Road, Meridian.

    • Failure to pay child support — Andre Griggs, 50, 1272 Will Wright Road, Meridian.

    • DUI — Demarrius Q. Hill, 23, 1304 43rd Ave., Meridian.

    • DUI — Elizabeth E. Kelly, 33, 1682 CR 130, Quitman.

    • Public drunk — Timothy D. Lang, 35, 3305 Azaela Park, Meridian.

    • Aggravated assault — Murray D. Pickett, 47, 2310 D St., Meridian.

    • DUI — Sandra D. Powell, 43, P.O. Box 689745, Orlando, Fla.

    • DUI — Derrick Sanford, 35, 5138 Sharen Drive, Meridian.

    • Aggravated assault — Tyrone D. Smith, 44, 1314 10th Ave., Columbus.

    • DUI — Danny L. Suttles, 33, 1635 Sandflat Road, Meridian.

    • DUI — Ashly J. Warren, 23, 1624 9th Ave., Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the the following incidents between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

    Burglary

    • 1500 block 47th Avenue

    • 1200 block 18th Street

    • 4700 block 25th Street

    • 4100 block 9th Street

    Stolen vehicle

    • Western Gardens

    • 700 block 63rd Avenue

    

     Saturday, Meridian Police Department officers arrested 37-year-old Douglas E. Calhoun of Fulton, Ala., on a fugitive from justice warrant from Alabama. Calhoun was apprehended on a traffic stop on North Hills Street on Friday night. The original charge from Alabama is theft by deception.There is no bond for this charge.

    Also Saturday, Meridian Police Department officers arrested 47-year-old Murray D. Pickett of Meridian and charged him with aggravated assault. This charge stems from an incident that occurred in the 600 block of 21st Street Friday night where it is alleged Pickett stabbed another man during an altercation. The victim received medical treatment for his non-life threatening wounds at a local hospital. Bond was set at $150,000.  

Lauderdale County Sheriff's      Department

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday.

    • DUI — Marcus J. Clay, 30, 343 41st Ave., Meridian.

    • DUI — Brenda K. Dempsey, 58, 9701 Lockhart Trailer Clark Road, Meridian.

    • Petty larceny — Willard L. Donald, 44, 2810 7th St., Meridian.

    • DUI — Michael W. Downey, 46, 8585 Lakewood Circle, Lauderdale.

    • DUI — Maxine M. Fleming, 28, 2208 Porterville Road, Porterville.

    • Simple assault — Joseph T. Kostick III, 30, 36 Grace Drive, Columbus.

    • Probation violation — Larry V. Powell, 28, 2727 43rd Ave., Meridian.
