Law Enforcement Reports: 4-02-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

    • Domestic violence — Tevin J. Cole, 21, 3780 Rufus Martin Road, Meridian.

    • Felony escape — Willie L. Hearn, 28, 2316 2nd Ave., Meridian.

    • Domestic violence — Laporshe Jones, 22, 2015 Mosby Road, Meridian.

    • Shoplifting — Brandon R. Slaughter, 21, 1528 50th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault on police officer — James Wilson, 19, 108 Klaire Cir., Natchitiches, La.

    • Possession of marijuana — Damion S. Gordon, 28, 1213 44th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault — Justin Spells, 33, 562 Majure Road, Meridian.

    • Possession of marijuana — Torris D. Clark, 47, 8860 Hwy. 493, Meridian.

    • DUI — Marx Griggs, 23, 2627 24th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault — Demetric D. Young, 27, 1619 13th Ave., Meridian.

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.  

    Auto Burglary

    • At 7:16 a.m. Monday, police responded to an auto burglary in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive.

    • At 9:51 a.m. Monday, a victim came to the police department to report an auto burglary that occurred in the 200 block of 23rd Street.       Shootings

    Police responded to two shots fired calls in the 3700 block of Highland Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and were unable to find any evidence to support these calls.

    Police in the 1600 block of 19th Street heard several shots fired in the area. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the source.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department

      The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests from 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday

    • Sale of cocaine — Anthony M. Davis, 30, 2319 2nd Ave., Meridian.

    • Possession of marijuana — Princess E. Grace, 34, 5632 Cooper Circle, Meridian.

    • DUI — Randy W. Henson, 57, Gulfport.

    • Failure to appear — Alan L. Jones, 27, 8051 Weeks Road, Chunchula, Ala.

    • Failure to appear in justice court — Thomas M. Mattews, 28, 977 Whynot Alamucha Road, Meridian.

    • DUI — James E. Williams, 51, 8774 West Parkway N., Lauderdale.

    • Domestic violence — Demetric D. Young, 26, 1619 13th Ave., Meridian.

    

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.
