Richard Gatewood of Lauderdale has returned from the Missouri Auction School having successfully completed the course in Auctioneering and Auction Sales Management. He received a diploma and the honorary title of Colonel along with other auctioneers from across the U.S.

opens in Meridian



Raising Cane's chicken fingers opened in Meridian Friday, serving chicken to customers on North Hills Street. The fist Raising Cane's restaurant opened in Baton Rouge, La. in 1996 and has expanded to now have 75 restaurants in 13 states. The restaurant's specialize in fresh, made-to-order chicken fingers, grilled Texas toast, fresh cole slaw, and crinkle cut fries. The chain has been recognized with awards such as Restaurant Hospitality's "Top 10 Growth Chains for 2008" and ranking second on Restaurant Business's "Future's Top 10 List".
