June 13-20 Design Discovery Camp will be presented by the School of Architecture, a part of Mississippi State University's College of Architecture, Art and Design. The camp was created specifically for high school students age 16 and older or incoming freshmen with an interest in architecture or other related design fields.
June 1 is the registration deadline; applications are accepted on a first-come basis. The total camp cost of $550 includes a $100 non-refundable application processing fee.
The camp coincides with two of MSU's summer orientation sessions, June 12 and 13 and 20 and 21. Since they may enroll during orientation, incoming freshmen majoring in architecture strongly are encouraged to attend both the camp and one of the two orientations.
Camp activities are designed to simulate the levels of information processing and individual skill and intensity required of enrolled students in Mississippi's only academic curriculum in architecture. Consistently, the campus residential experience has helped many make an informed career decision about the major or similar disciplines.
Through support of Johnson-McAdams P.A., a Greenwood architectural firm, a limited number of scholarships is available to high school students who either reside in Leflore County or are members of a minority under-represented in higher education. Scholarship application forms also are available through the college office.
Design Discovery sign-in takes place 3-5 p.m. June 13 on the second floor of Giles Hall, home of the school and college.

Thursday Northeast Mississippi Job Fair on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at the Lyceum at EMCCs Golden Triangle campus, 8731 S. Frontage Road in Mayhew, off Highway 45 Alternate.

Summer registration Registration is open for summer classes. The first summer session is May 28-June 27; the second session is July 7-Aug. 6. Students may register for classes until the first Friday after classes begin.

Here's a look at upcoming events at East Central Community College, Decatur:
May 6 Instruction in Network Fundamentals, a class that focuses on the full spectrum of computer networking, from hardware and software through certification and security, is being offered at ECCCs Integrated Technologies Training Center in Choctaw. This class is ideal for learning the skills and concepts needed to pass the CompTia Network+ Certification test.
Classes will be held 12 consecutive Tuesdays, beginning May 6, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Kyle James, Information Technology specialist, will serve as instructor. Cost of the class is $150.

May 12-30 Three-week term summer class schedule. Classes are offered on the Decatur campus and at the Winston/Louisville Vocational Complex.
Courses in Decatur include General Biology I and Lab, Anatomy and Physiology I and Lab, Microbiology and Lab, Physical Science I and Lab, Microcomputer Applications, English Composition I, American History I, Developmental Algebra, College Algebra, Music Appreciation, Introduction to Sociology and Intro to Computer Concepts.
In Louisville, course offerings include Intro to Computer Concepts, College Algebra and American History I.
The deadline to register is May 13.
