NEW PREACHER; NEW CEILING The Rev. Donnell Adams, pastor of St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church, is pictured in the church’s newly restored sanctuary Friday. When Adams became pastor in December, the building still had significant damage from Hurricane Katrina, including much of the ceiling lying on the pews and floor. “We’ve come a long way,” said Adams, “and we still have some renovations to make.”
