    Brittany Brown of Decatur has hopes of becoming a physician one day. Brown, a senior at Newton County Academy, is getting a head start on her medical training by enrolling in the Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Practical Nursing Program being offered at East Central Community College.

    It’s often quoted that home is where the heart is. W.C. Winstead started his career as a builder/contractor 57 years ago. Helping others find and build their homes as well as build their lives continues to be the heart of the matter.
    His son, Terry, noted when real estate licenses were first issued in Mississippi, W.C. was in the initial batch of licensed brokers with license No. 200.

  • Changes made at MCC bookstore
    Students at Meridian Community College may have noticed that, since spring semester of this year, things around the MCC "Eagle's Nest" bookstore are a bit different.
    The most obvious, though perhaps not the biggest change, is that students can no longer browse through text books. Gone are the days when students waltz into the bookstore with their book list, grab the books they need, and then wait in line at the check-out counter.
    Now, they wait in line twice.
