Gressett, Mears

MERIDIAN —     Carolyn (Martin) Reed and Richard Reed of Meridian and Cyndi and Lester Gressett of Russell announce the engagement of their daughter, Ginger Carol, to Justin Case Mears, son of Ramona and Johnnie Thomas of Union.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Life Baptist Church on State Boulevard. The Rev. Ralph Henson will be performing the ceremony.

    Miss Gressett is the granddaughter of Elizabeth (Lib) Martin and the late Charles Cecil Martin Jr. of Gulfport and Maxine Hoyt (Gressett) Manasco and the late Fred B. Gressett of Meridian.

    The bride-elect graduated from Meridian High School with honors in 1997.

    Miss Gressett is employed by Vital Care, Inc. where she is a patient account representative. She was previously employed at CVS Pharmacy (North Hills) as a nationally certified pharmacy technician for 12 years.

    Mr. Mears is the grandson of Wanda and the late Jack Mears of Hood River, Ore., and the late Velma and the late Homer Jenkins of Union.

    The bridegroom-elect received an associate’s degree in electrical engineering from East Central Community College in 2003. He graduated from Youth Challenge Program at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg in 1999.

    Mr. Mears served three years in the Army National Guard. He also served five years as an active duty sergeant in the United States Army, while stationed in Washington state.

    Mr. Mears is employed at Lauderdale County Detention Facility as a corrections officer.

    A reception will be held after the ceremony.

    Formal invitations will be mailed.
