MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Stacey Thompson of Bonifay, Fla. announce the engagement of their daughter, Crystal, to Corey Fitzgerald, son of Ms. Tammie Fitzgerald Vance and the late Mr. Mickey Fitzgerald of Little Rock.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, under the majestic oak trees at Sage Field Farm in Bonifay.

    Miss Thompson is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.T. (Sonny) Johnson Jr. of Bonifay and Mr. and Mrs. Doferice Thompson of Westville, Fla.

    The bride-elect attended the University of Florida on a softball scholarship and graduated with a bachelors of science degree in physical education in 2012. She is a 2008 graduate of Holmes County High School.    

    Miss Thompson is employed in Meridian. She is currently earning a master’s degree in arts in teaching community college instruction at Mississippi State University.

    Mr. Fitzgerald is the grandson of Mrs. Letha Wright and the late Mr. Johnnie Wright of Little Rock and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Fitzgerald.

    The bridegroom-elect received an associate of applied science degree in drafting and design technology with a concentration in land surveying from East Central Community College. He is a 2007 graduate of Newton County High School.

    While attending ECCC, he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

    Mr. Fitzgerald is employed with Harrison Surveying and Mapping, LLC, and is currently pursuing a professional land surveying license.

    A reception will be held following the ceremony at Sage Field Farm.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
