MERIDIAN —

    Mr. and Mrs. Billy John of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jones of Chunky announce the engagement of their daughter, Janet Marie John, to James Christopher Roberts, son of Mr. Terry Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Rhodes of Collinsville.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Pierce Castle near Decatur.

    Miss John is the granddaughter of Mrs. Peggy Pearson and the late Mr. Bob Pearson of Collinsville, Mr. and Mrs. Bill John, Ms. Pat John and Mr. and Mrs. James Jones, all of Meridian.

    The bride-elect received her master of education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2012 and an honors bachelor of arts degree in political science in 2011. She is a 2008 graduate of West Lauderdale High School.

    While attending Southern Miss, she served as historian for Chi Omega, was a member of the Southern Miss Educational Law Association and served as president of the Political Society.

    Miss John is employed by Regions Bank.

    Mr. Roberts is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Culpepper, Mr. Marvin Roberts and the late Mrs. Janice Roberts, all of Collinsville.

    The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering technology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009, and an associate of applied science degree in drafting and design technology from Meridian Community College in 2007. He is a 2004 graduate of West Lauderdale High School.

    While attending Southern Miss, he was a member of Student Constructors.

    Mr. Roberts is employed by Thurman Scale as an engineering technician.

    A reception will be held on the grounds of Pierce Castle.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
