Frankie and Laura Fitzgerald of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Nicole, to Cody Dewayne Freeman, son of Bruce and Amanda Freeman of Collinsville.
The wedding will be Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 5 p.m., at Pine Grove Church in Collinsville.
Miss Fitzgerald is the granddaughter of Willard and Ann Rose of Seminary, Thelma Fitzgerald and the late Carl Fitzgerald of Meridian, and the late Jo Fitzgerald of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in education certified in Spanish, history and English. She is also a graduate of West Lauderdale High School, where she was a member of the cheer squad for six years. And, she participated in dance and gymnastics throughout her high school years.
While attending MSU, the bride-elect was a member of the MSU coed cheer squad for four years, and also a Universal Cheerleader Association instructor.
Miss Fitzgerald is employed by Lauderdale County School District, where she will teach ninth grade English at West Lauderdale High School.
Mr. Freeman is the grandson of Jesse and Lynda Roberts of Collinsville, and Ms. Mary Leigh Freeman and the late James E. Freeman of Meehan.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. He is also a graduate of West Lauderdale High School, where he played baseball for the Knights and they were state champions in 2007.
While attending MSU, the bridegroom-elect played baseball for four years. While there, he received SEC (Southeastern Conference) Academic Honor Roll.
Mr. Freeman is employed by Philadelphia High School, where he is head baseball coach.
Miss Fitzgerald is a member of Pine Grove Church, and Mr. Freeman is a member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
A reception will be held at Northeast Conference Center in Meridian.
