Gordy, Buchanan

MERIDIAN —     Wayne and Rachel Gordy of Forest are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Marissa Janae, to Austin Gray Buchanan, son of Jimmy and Joy Buchanan of Philadelphia.

    The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 3 in the afternoon at Hillsboro Baptist Church.

    Grandparents of the bride are Peggy Joyce Baucum and the late Charles Arnold Baucum of Meridian and the late Don and Carolyn Gordy of Lawrence.

    Grandparents of the bridegroom are Jimmy and Faye Buchanan of Toxey, Ala., and the late Jimmy and Barbara Thomas of Butler, Ala.

    Miss Gordy is 2013 graduate of Mississippi University for Women, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is also a 2011 graduate of East Central Community College and a 2009 graduate of East Rankin Academy.

    Miss Gordy will practice as a registered nurse.

    Mr. Buchanan is a 2012 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. He is also a 2008 graduate of Neshoba Central High School.

    Mr. Buchanan will be a mathematics teacher and assistant football coach at West Lauderdale High School.

    A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony in the fellowship hall.

    All friends and family are invited to attend.
