Day, Wood

MERIDIAN —     Rickie and Shirley Day of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittanie, to Tyler Wood, son of Wade and Dawn Wood of Collinsville.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Pine Grove Church.

    Miss Day is the granddaughter of Lamar and Mary Grace Day and the late Roma Day of Philadelphia, and the late Martha and Odell Luke of Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of Southeast Lauderdale High School. She will graduate with an associate of arts degree from Meridian Community College in December 2012.

    While attending MCC, she is a member of the Ivy League, MCC Chorus and MCC Dimensions.

    Miss Day is employed by Highland Baptist Daycare.

    Mr. Wood is the grandson of Jim and Lynn Ethridge and the late Beck Ethridge and Jimmy and Peggie Wood, all of Collinsville. He is the great-grandson of Helen Ethridge of Collinsville.

    The bridegroom-elect received an associate’s degree in applied science from East Mississippi Community College. He is also a graduate of West Lauderdale High School.

    While attending EMCC, he was a member of the All-American Fishing Tournament, Walmart Bass Fishing League and an All-American Qualifier.

    Mr. Wood is employed by D & E Construction.

    A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
