Redmond, Purser

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Redmond of Quitman announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Elizabeth, to Joshua Wayne Purser, son of Tenia Purser of Clinton and Tommy Purser of Crystal Springs.

    The wedding will take place Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 6 p.m., at the Dupree House in Raymond.

    Miss Redmond is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Brown Sr. of Mooresville, N.C., and Mrs. Evelyn Redmond and the late Lavon Redmond of Stonewall.

    The bride-elect received a master of science degree in communicative disorders from Jackson State University and a bachelor of science degree in speech-language pathology from Mississippi University for Women. She is a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College and Heidelberg Academy.

    While attending Mississippi University for Women, she was a member of the Silhouette social club and Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

    Miss Redmond is employed by Trinity Rehabilitation as a speech pathologist at Wisteria Gardens Nursing Center in Pearl.

    Mr. Purser is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Harrell and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Purser, all of Brandon.

    The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of science degree in information technology from the University of Southern Mississippi and an associates in applied sciences degree in computer networking. He is a graduate of Clinton High School.  

    While attending the University of Southern Mississippi, he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society.  

    Mr. Purser is currently a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, stationed at NAS in Pensacola, Fla.

    A reception will follow at the Dupree House.
