Shelton, Smallwood

MERIDIAN — Purvis and Lara Shelton of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Renatta, to Wes Smallwood, son of Jackie Roberts of Meridian and the late Joseph Smallwood.

    The wedding will be Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 3:30 p.m., at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 3456 KOA Campground Road.

    Miss Shelton is the granddaughter of Jasper and Millie Shelton of Meridian, Fred James and Lea Johnson of Meridian and the late John Headley of Meridian/Mobile, Ala.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of Southeast High School.

    While attending Southeast, she was a member of the Debs Social Service Club of which she is a Lifetime Member.

    Miss Shelton is employed by Citizens National Bank.

    Mr. Smallwood is the grandson of Epsie Fuller of Meridian and Joann and Heilton Smallwood of Nashville, Tenn.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Northeast High School.

    While in the United States Army, he was member of the 287th Trans. Co., and served a tour in Kuwait and Iraq from 2010-11.

    Mr. Smallwood is employed by John O’Neil Johnson Toyota.

    A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
