MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Aaron Canterbury of Collinsville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Joely Megan McDaniel, to Robert Tyler Garth, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas Mallette of Madison, and Mr. Robert Earl Garth of Canton. Miss McDaniel is also the daughter of the late Timothy Allen McDaniel of Collinsville.

    The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in a beach wedding, with a reception to follow at Sailboat Bay, Gulf Shores, Ala.

    Miss McDaniel is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Orean Jack Combest Sr. of Meridian, Mrs. Ollie Marion Brown of Tulsa, Okla., and Mr. Vernon Lee McDaniel of Tulsa.

    The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is also a 2007 graduate of Heidelberg Academy.

    Miss McDaniel is a registered nurse at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.  

    Mr. Garth is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Orland Tarver Linebarier of Brandon and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Price Garth of Jackson.

    The bridegroom-elect is a 2006 graduate of Pearl River Community College with a degree in respiratory therapy, and a 2011 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences. He is also a 2003 graduate of Madison-Ridgeland Academy.

    Mr. Garth is a respiratory therapist with Children’s of Alabama and UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

    The couple will make their home in Hoover, Ala.
