McAlister, Upchurch

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. McAlister of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Beth, to Samuel Harvin Upchurch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Upchurch of Livingston, Ala.

    The wedding will be Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 7 p.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

    Miss McAlister is the granddaughter of Mrs. Claire Rougelot of Oakland, Tenn., the late Will P. Rougelot, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. McAlister Sr. of Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education in December 2009. She is also a graduate of Meridian Community College and West Lauderdale High School.

    Miss McAlister is employed by Lauderdale County School District as a science teacher.

    Mr. Upchurch is the grandson of Mrs. Grace (BeBe) Williams of Columbia, Ala., the late Samuel P. Williams, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Upchurch of Livingston, Ala.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Sumter Academy. He currently attends Meridian Community College.

    Mr. Upchurch is a veteran of the United States Army and is employed by the city of Meridian.

    A reception will be held at St. Patrick Family Life Center.
