King, McGarvie

MERIDIAN —     Raymond and Carron King of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, to Bryce Robert McGarvie, son of Robert and Nanci Jo McGarvie of Elgin, Ill.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 5 p.m. at The Cotton Market in Pearl.

    Miss King is the granddaughter of Mrs. Rufus McEwen and the late Mr. McEwen of Ruth, and Mrs. Lonnie King and the late Mr. King of Brookhaven.

    The bride-elect is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in communications and a master's degree in business administration. She also is a graduate of Meridian High School.

    While attending MSU, she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Lambda Pi Eta, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and the Master of Business Administration Association (MBAA). She also served as a resident advisor.

    Miss King is employed by Stark Aerospace Inc. of Columbus.

    Mr. McGarvie is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leverne Friberg of Greys Lake, Ill. and Mr. Russel McGarvie and the late Mrs. McGarvie of West Bend, Wisc.  

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a bachelor of arts degree in administration of justice. He is also a graduate of Elgin High School.

    While attending SIU, he was a member of Air Force ROTC and Arnold Air Society.

    Mr. McGarvie is employed by the United States Air Force.

     A reception for the couple will be held at The Cotton Market following the wedding ceremony.
