Sollie, Powell

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Billy Sollie of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Caitlin, to Pate Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Powell of Collinsville.

    The wedding will be Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 6:30 p.m., in City Park, New Orleans, La.

    Miss Sollie is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Sollie, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Taylor and the late Mr. Jerry Thornton.

    The bride-elect earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women. She attended Meridian High School.

    While attending USM, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

    Miss Sollie is employed by Forrest General Hospital.

    Mr. Powell is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Powell, Mr. Alton Thrash and Ms. Jean Thrash.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Lamar High School. He attended Meridian Community College.

    While attending Lamar, he was elected Mr. Lamar High 2007.

    Mr. Powell is employed by Petal Fire Department.

    A reception will be held at Park View Terrance, City Park, New Orleans.
