MERIDIAN —     The Rev. and Mrs. William Taylor of Longview, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Kathryn, to John Thomas Williamson, son of Judge and Mrs. Lester Williamson Jr. of Meridian.

    The wedding will be Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.

    Miss Taylor is the granddaughter of Lauren and Florence Schverak, the late William and Alvina Taylor and the late Murray and Betty Smith.

    The bride-elect received a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education at Centenary College and a master of education degree in leadership at St. Thomas University. She is a graduate of Conroe High School in Conroe, Texas.

    While attending Centenary College, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

    Miss Taylor is employed by the Houston Independent School District as a first grade teacher.

    Mr. Williamson is the grandson of the late William and Virginia Giles and the late Lester and Ann Williamson of Meridian.

    The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor of business administration degree in managerial finance and real estate from the University of Mississippi. He is a graduate of Lamar High School.

    While attending Ole Miss, he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

    Mr. Williamson is employed by Freeport-McMoRan Oil as a senior landman.

    A reception will be held at The Junior League of Houston.
