Valentine, Vonder Haar

MERIDIAN —     Dr. and Mrs. James Lee Valentine of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Lee, to Adam Lance Vonder Haar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Lawrence Vonder Haar.

    The wedding will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, Meridian.

    Miss Valentine is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Edward Patton Jr. of Nitta Yuma and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Clyde Valentine of Decatur.

    The bride-elect is a cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology with a minor in chemistry. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.

    While attending Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, Campus Crusade for Christ and Psi Chi honor society.

    Miss Valentine is employed by Meridian Plastic Surgery.

    Mr. Vonder Haar is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert West of Mount Olive and Mrs. Lawrence John Vonder Haar and the late Mr. Vonder Haar of St. Louis, Mo.

     The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Brandon High School. He will graduate from the University of Mississippi in May with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor of business administration degree in business management, with a minor in marketing.    

    While attending Ole Miss, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) and the Honors College.

    Mr. Vonder Haar will be employed by Raytheon Space and Airborne System.

    A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club.
