White, McArthur

MERIDIAN —

    Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kenneth McCracken and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Van White of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary McCall White, to William David McArthur, son of Dr. and Mrs. Russel Earl McArthur.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church.

    Miss White is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Alexander Gafford Sr. of Oxford, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Donald White of Moss Point.

    The bride-elect graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Mississippi. She is also a graduate of Lamar High School.

    While attending Ole Miss, she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Alpha Lambda. She also served as secretary for Habitat for Humanity and tutored at Leap Frog and Boys and Girls Club of Oxford and Lafayette County.

    Miss White is currently teaching second grade at Ann Smith Elementary in Ridgeland.

    Mr. McArthur is the grandson of Mrs. Margie Dell Jackson and the late Mr. William Eugene Jackson Sr. of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lawrence McArthur Sr. of Red Springs, N.C.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated cum laude and third in his class from the University of Mississippi, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is also a graduate of Lamar High School.

    While at Ole Miss, he was a member of Eta Kappa Nu and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

    Mr. McArthur is currently a project engineer for the ASSET (Advanced Sales, Service, and Engineering Technology) Company in Canton.

    A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club.
