Wilson, McCarty

MERIDIAN —     Donald and Gayle Wilson of Laurel announce the engagement of their daughter, Mandy Leigh, to John Ross McCarty, son of Dr. and Mrs. Britt McCarty of Meridian.

    The wedding will be Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 5 p.m. at The South Warehouse in Jackson.

    Miss Wilson is the granddaughter of Ann Hill and the late Charles Ray of Brandon and the late Howard and Mackie Wilson of Winnfield, La.

    The bride-elect is a 2014 graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor of science degree in art education. She is a 2010 graduate of West Jones High School.

    While attending Mississippi College, she was a member of Swannanoa Social Tribe, Baptist Student Union, Mortar Board and the National Art Education Association.

    Mr. McCarty is the grandson of John and Helen McCarty of Harperville, Julie Knight of Jackson and Jack Knight of Blue Ridge, Texas.

    The bridegroom-elect is a 2014 graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He is a 2010 graduate of Meridian Christian Home Educators.

    While attending Mississippi College, he was a member of Shawreth Men’s Club, Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa, Baptist Student Union and listed in "Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities."

    Mr. McCarty will attend the Medical University of South Carolina Dental School.

    A reception will be held at The South Warehouse immediately following the wedding.
