Richards, Gressett

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Fred Richards of Belk, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Carol, to Joshua Trent Gressett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Dudley Gressett of Collinsville.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at 4 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Owel Newman of Fayette, Ala., grandparents of the bride.

    Miss Richards is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Owel Newman of Fayette and Ms. Imogene Leonard Richards and the late Mr. Fred Richards of Kennedy, Ala.

    The bride-elect graduated from Mississippi State University in 2009 with a degree in civil engineering. She is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School

    While attending MSU,, she was a member of Delta Gamma fraternity.

    Miss Richards recently accepted a position as an engineer with Southern Company. She was previously employed as an assistant project manager with Brasfield and Gorrie, General Contractors.

    Mr. Gressett is the grandson of Mrs. Maureen Gressett and the late Victor Gressett of Collinsville, Ms. Mary Nell Ethridge of Collinsville and the late Mr. M.B. and Mrs. Peggy Ethridge of Shuqualak.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Meridian Community College with an associate’s degree in graphic design. He is a 2000 graduate of West Lauderdale and attended lineman’s school at East Mississippi Community College.

    Mr. Gressett is currently employed as a lineman with East Mississippi Electric Power Association.

    A reception will be held following the ceremony.

    Formal invitations will be sent.
