Hailey, Polk

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Cooper Hailey of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Katherine, to Zachary Kane Polk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Polk of Madison.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Polksbury, home of the bridegroom’s parents.

    Miss Hailey is the granddaughter of Mrs. Peggy Hailey and the late Tillman Hailey of DeKalb and Mr. and Mrs. James Metts of Louisville.

    The bride-elect is a 2012 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is also a graduate of West Lauderdale High School.    

    While attending Mississippi State University, she was a member of Phi Alpha honor society and served as secretary of the Association of Student Social Workers.

    Mr. Polk is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Jackson of Bassfield and Mr. Robert Polk and the late Myrtle Polk of Prentiss.

    The bridegroom-elect is a 2012 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He is also a graduate of Madison Ridgeland Academy.

    Mr. Polk is employed by Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

    Following the wedding, they will live in Palm Desert, Calif.
