Heard, Alexander

MERIDIAN —     Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Melvin Heard Jr. of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Haley Elizabeth, to Richmond L. Alexander IV, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richmond L. Alexander III of Meridian.

    The wedding will be Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 6 p.m., at Northcrest Baptist Church.

    Miss Heard is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Rawson Jr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mel Heard of Meridian.

    The bride-elect is a magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a degree in elementary education. She is currently in the graduate counselor education program at Mississippi State. She is also a graduate of Clarkdale High School.

    While attending MSU, she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She is a former Meridian/Lauderdale County Miss Hospitality.

    Miss Heard is employed by the Meridian Public School District, where she teaches at Poplar Springs Elementary.

    Mr. Alexander is the grandson of the late Mr. Richmond L. Alexander Jr. and Mrs. Dolores Heflin Alexander of Butler, Ala., and Mr. James Saul of Laurel and the late Lillian Saul.

    The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a degree in civil engineering. He is also a graduate of Meridian High School.

    While attending MSU, he was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers – Student Chapter.

    Mr. Alexander is employed by Engineering Plus, Inc. in Meridian.

    A reception will be held at Northwood Country Club.
