Woodard, Mitchell
Mr. and Mrs. Risdon Ernest Woodard III of Minden, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Paige of Houston, Texas, to Adam Stephenson Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell Jr. of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at 4:30 p.m. in Palm Desert, Calif.
Miss Woodard is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Risdon Ernest Woodard Jr. of Minden and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Henry Mason of Eldorado, Ark.
The bride-elect graduated cum laude with a law degree from South Texas College of Law and received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Louisiana State University. She is a graduate of Glenbrook High School.
While attending LSU, Miss Woodard was a Louisiana Board of Regents Scholar and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority and served as a new member educator.
While in law school, she was assistant editor in chief of the South Texas Law Review and was recognized as a Student Bar Association 2005 Outstanding Female Graduate.
After graduation, Miss Woodard clerked for the honorable Carl E. Stewart of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Miss Woodard is employed by Haynes and Boone, LLP, where she practices labor and employment law.
Mr. Mitchell is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis John Marcello Sr. of Houma, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mann Mitchell of Meridian.
The bridegroom-elect received a master of business administration degree in finance from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor's degree in business with a marketing major from Louisiana State University. He is an honors graduate of Lamar High School.
While attending LSU, Mr. Mitchell was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and the 2000-2002 LSU Football team. At Vanderbilt, he was a member of the Student Government Association and served as vice-president of community affairs.
Mr. Mitchell is employed by Mitchell Distributing Company.
A reception will be held at Bighorn Golf Club following the ceremony.
