Pylate, Smith

Mr. and Mrs. C. Irving Pylate Jr., of Starkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Mollie Miller, to Dustin Wayne "Dusty" Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith of Preston.

The wedding will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Starkville.

Miss Pylate is the granddaughter of Bernice Miller and the late Carlton Miller and Ruth Pylate and the late Irving "Red" Pylate, all of Kosciusko.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Vaughn’s Beauty College and a 2004 graduate of Starkville Academy.

Miss Pylate is employed as a cosmetologist and certified nail technician at Park Place Salon in Starkville.

Mr. Smith is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Nicholson of Union and Mazine Smith and the late Richard Smith of DeKalb.

The bridegroom-elect is a 2004 graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and will complete his master's degree in forest operations in December 2008 from MSU. He is a 2002 graduate of East Mississippi Community College and a 2000 graduate of Kemper Academy. Mr. Smith is employed as a procurement forester with Cooper Marine and Timberlands in Aliceville, Ala.

A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony at the Griffis Board Room, Palmeiro Center, on the Mississippi State University campus.
