Louis and Donna Skinner of Union announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Stacy Gean Skinner, to Nicholas Earl Turner of Louisville, the son of Matthew G. "Bud" and Barbara Turner of Louisville.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Union.
Dr. Skinner is the granddaughter of L.M. Skinner of Union and the late Claragean Skinner and the late William Edward and Anna "Tag" Brantley of Philadelphia.
The bride-elect received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Mississippi State University in 2006. She is a 1998 graduate of Union High School.
Dr. Skinner is employed at a large and small animal practice, Amite Animal Clinic, in Amite, La.
Mr. Turner is the grandson of the late Haywood Turner of Maben, the late Katherine Fahr of Lepanto, Ark., and the late Allen Clarence and Gertrude Booth of Mathiston.
The bridegroom-elect received a bachelor's degree in education from Mississippi State University in 1998. He is a 1992 graduate of Winston Academy.
Mr. Turner teaches science at Hammond High School in Hammond, La.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
