Sims, Kirkpatrick

— Mike and Becky Sims of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Kayla Nicole, to Bobby Kirkpatrick, son of Eddie and Sarah Kirkpatrick of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Lauderdale United Methodist Church.
Miss Sims is the granddaughter of Mickey and Betty Ables of Meridian, George and Ada Sims of Rose Hill and the late Jeff Lawrence of Monroe, La.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School.
While attending Northeast, she was a member of the swim team and Family, Career and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA).
Mr. Kirkpatrick is the grandson of the late Jonny Dearman and Essie May Dearman.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Gulf Coast Community College and The Challenge Academy.
Mr. Kirkpatrick is employed by The Meridian Star.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony.
