David and Janice Bishop of Collinsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Marie, to Michael Jordan Welch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Darryl Welch of Mobile, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Ballard of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Okaloosa Island, in Destin, Fla.
Ms. Bishop is the granddaughter of the late Wallace and Evelyn McDaniel of Collinsville and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bishop of Meridian and Eloise Bishop of Collinsville.
The bride-elect is pursuing a degree in nursing at Meridian Community College. She is a 2004 graduate of Neshoba Central High School.
Miss Bishop is employed by Express.
Mr. Welch is the grandson of Elaine Welch of York, Ala. and the late Billy Welch and the late Jim and Martha Jo Parcell of York.
The bridegroom-elect is a 2005 graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School.
Mr. Welch is employed by TransOcean Offshore Company.
A reception will be held at the Islander Beach Resort following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
