Paul and Janice Cardwell of Sylacauga, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Carol, to Adam Oscar Burt, son of Keith Burt of Pelham, Ala., and Norah Burt of Hoover, Ala.
The wedding will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at Mignon Baptist Church in Sylacauga.
Miss Cardwell is the granddaughter of Mickey and Shirley Cardwell of Sylacauga and the late Albert and Othella Dutton of Sylacauga.
The bride-elect received a bachelor's degree in family and child studies from the University of Montevallo. She is a graduate of Sylacauga High School.
Miss Cardwell is employed by Mignon Baptist Church.
Mr. Burt is the grandson of Oscar and Duchess Burt of Meridian and Bernie and Nettie Phillips of Ocean Springs and Sylvia Gambill of Meridian and the late Tommy Gambill.
The bridegroom-elect is attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he is pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering. He is a graduate of Hoover High School.
Mr. Burt is employed by The Aerospace Testing Alliance.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
