McCary, Payne



Keith and Nancy McCary of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Louise, to Steven Gerald Payne Jr., son of Steven and Debbie Payne of Whitesville, Ky.

The wedding will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Miss McCary is the granddaughter of Jimmy and Sandra Johnson of Meridian.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian Community College and Southeast Lauderdale High School.

While attending Southeast, she was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the band, Allied Health and HOSA.

Miss McCary is employed by Rush Foundation Hospital.

Mr. Payne is the grandson of Debrah Payne of Whitesville, Ky., and Joe Mercer of Philpol, Ky.

The bridegroom-elect received a degree in computer and science from the University of Kentucky. He is a graduate of Owen County High School.

While attending Owen County High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Academic Team and ROTC.

Mr. Payne is employed by the U.S. Air Force.

A reception will be held in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the ceremony.
