Johnson, Hailes

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Johnson of Melvin, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Diane, to Andrew Philip Hailes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sanders of Quitman. The bridegroom-elect is also the son of the late Jim Hailes.

The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at 5 p.m. at Quitman First United Methodist Church.

Miss Johnson is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lacy Shoemaker of Butler, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Johnson of Melvin.

The bride-elect is pursuing a degree in dental hygiene technology from Meridian Community College. She is a graduate of Southern Choctaw High School.

Mr. Hailes is the grandson of Mary Stallings and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hailes Jr., all of Quitman.

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Heidelberg Academy. He attended Houston Community College.

Mr. Hailes is employed by Diamond Offshore Drilling.

A reception will be held at Quitman Country Club immediately following the ceremony.
