— Roger and Carla Shirley of Chunky announce the engagement of their daughter, Myleia Shirley to Steven Holifield, son of Loyse La Trelle Sr. and Mary Holifield of Laurel.
The wedding will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Chunky Baptist Church.
Miss Shirley is the granddaughter of Mary Crouch and Myrtle Irby, of Chunky and the late Leroy Crouch and the late Ben Carpenter.
The bride-elect received an associate's of arts degree from Meridian Community College. She is a graduate of Lamar High School.
Miss Shirley is employed by Central Mississippi Residential Center.
Mr. Holifield is the grandson of Mary Hopkins of Laurel and the late Alvis Hopkins and the late Steve Elmo and Elma Burkes.
The bridegroom-elect bachelor's degree in pastoral training from Southern Baptist College and a master's in education degree from William Carey University.
Mr. Holifield is employed by Oak Grove Upper Elementary School and Park Haven Baptist Church.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
