Spivey, Mitchell

Mr. and Mrs. Jon Alford Spivey of Baird announce the engagement of their daughter, April Layne, to Justin Michael Mitchell of Meridian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Thomas Mitchell of Meridian.

The wedding will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Inverness United Methodist Church.

Miss Spivey is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Duncan Simmons of Baird and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Eugene Spivey Jr. of Moorhead.

The bride-elect received bachelor's degrees in biological sciences and nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005. She is a 2000 graduate of Indianola Academy.

Miss Spivey is a registered nurse at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Mr. Mitchell is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lyle Pogue of Meridian and Mrs. Arthur James Mitchell of Madison and the late Mr. Mitchell.

The bridegroom-elect received a master's degree in sports administration in 2006 and a bachelor's degree in sports administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a 2002 graduate of Lamar High School

While attending USM, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.

Mr. Mitchell is employed as a teacher and coach for the Hattiesburg Public School District.

A reception will be held at the Indianola Country Club immediately following the service.

No local invitations will be sent and family and friends are invited to attend.
