Engagements

The deadline to submit copy and/or photograph is 5 p.m. the preceding Monday of the Sunday publication. If the preceding Monday is a holiday (and The Star office is closed), the deadline is Tuesday.

Only information included on The Meridian Star’s engagement forms will be published. While requested publication dates are observed as often as possible, they cannot be guaranteed.

• The Star publishes waist-length photos only — no full-length shots.

• The engagement announcement should be submitted at least four weeks prior to the wedding date.

• A daytime and evening telephone number must be provided. If needed, someone will call before publication of the announcement to review the information — spelling of names, date, time and other details.

• The fee for engagement or wedding announcements is $40 with a photo and $25 without a photo, payable in advance.

Black and white or color photos are accepted; all are published in black and white. The name should be written on the back of the photo at the bottom. Do not write at the top or middle; the impression may be readable from the front of the picture. Photos are filed for 90 days and may be picked up at The Star office after publication or mailed (a self-addressed, stamped envelope must be submitted with announcement).

Announcements and photos may be submitted up to two weeks prior to the requested date for publication.
